Scholarship owner: The Kellogg Family in memory of Vernon Kellogg & Marilyn Kellogg.
Vernon Kellogg was a teacher, a counselor, and an administrator in the Elk Grove Unified School District.  He retired in 1985 as the principal of William Daylor High School, a continuation high school that meets the special needs of high-risk youth.  His work with students who required extra attention was the hallmark of his career.  He was respected throughout the district and state for his efforts in the area of alternative education.
Marilyn was a passionate elementary teacher who embraced the whole student, their academic and social emotional needs.  She taught with kindness and patience, making every student feel valued.  A hallmark of her career was job sharing with her daughter, Barbara Zarecky.  They made the perfect team, complimenting each other's strengths.  They were actually the first team to job share in the EGUSD in 1982.
